Here's a new series the Dispatch is running. This one wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but with all the shootings so far this year, it's only a matter of time before the anti-gun people really start to get loud.

Columbus police and Franklin County prosecutors say that one of the best ways to curb gun violence is to shift the focus from the weapons to the people who use them illegally. That's why they formed a gun unit in 2009 to streamline prosecuting gun-possession cases.

i dont get what the article is after. other then to make people aware of what they already are aware off.. guns in the hands of gang bangers is bad.

Here's a novel idea. Tough punishments for criminals, for the promotion of decency in society.

I wish there was a statistic that showed how many crimes were avoided because of guns in the hands of potential victims.
