Got-Boost?
They are on a new facility this year so there are going to be some growing pains with the runways. Looks/Sounds like the bumps caused more than the bikes issues..

CRAWDAD
He acted like he was more excited about his new best time than he was about going sideways. Maybe it does it on every pass.

Got-Boost?
With all the hard work and dedication, the new world record was set. After a mishap on Sat. the valve cover leaked and started a ball of fire. At the same time the wiring harness broke free and wrapped up in the wheel. It yanked most of the wiring out, even from the dash. Josh still pulled off a great run. They got the parts at 1:30 am (with a boost controller) and worked through the night. By morning all the repairs were made and ready to go for it. The boost was cranked up more than the last pass from the day before. Keep in mind Josh drove this car into a 20 mhp+ head wind and on a course with a NASTY dip at the finish line. At the 200 mph mark he was smoking his tire and was all over the track. When he made it to the finish line the car was nearly sideways. The parachute saved him...again. He was ready to go again when he came back in. He didn't come off that high all day. It was an awesome thing to witness. So how fast did he go? 244.5 mph in a nasty head wind. In the photo below is the motorcycle rider that topped it by going 244.6. These are the 2 fastest guys at the mile this year. http://www.tonygphotography.net/Cars/Texas-Mile/Texas-Mile-May-2011/i-KnLvCGm/0/XL/DSC3833-XL.jpg http://www.tonygphotography.net/Cars/Texas-Mile/Texas-Mile-May-2011/i-kQ5Mrsz/0/XL/DSC3839-XL.jpg http://z06nut.smugmug.com/Cars/Texas-Mile/Texas-Mile-May-2011/i-TK2QsP2/0/XL/DSC3843-XL.jpg http://z06nut.smugmug.com/Cars/Texas-Mile/Texas-Mile-May-2011/i-cFRF47B/0/XL/DSC3829-XL.jpg http://www.tonygphotography.net/Cars/Texas-Mile/Texas-Mile-May-2011/i-6CPQM9d/0/XL/DSC3849-XL.jpg http://www.tonygphotography.net/Cars/Texas-Mile/Texas-Mile-May-2011/i-C3SwcCJ/0/XL/DSC3807-XL.jpg The new track needs a little work but typical growing pains.....wind was HORRIBLE!!!! Rocky31186
Wow that was one bumpy strait away.. no wonder he went sideways..
Got-Boost?
So are the drag radials. That will always be a problem when no tire is rated for those speeds and kind of tough sticking a 1700whp+ car...
Alex L.
IIRC, Mickey Thompson has advised people to stay away from the ET radial for mile competition. I'm sure Hoosier is no different.
Mallard
He drives like Vin Diesel. After seeing a few accidents where people got glass in their eyes, I would not be driving 240 mph with one hand on the wheel and with my visor up. Also, is it just me, or is his helmet taller than the halo? I don't think his rear 'diffuser' is doing much when the rear sway bar hangs lower, either. That said, 244 mph in a mile is moving! And judging by the slow launch they were geared pretty high and accelerated really hard after they got moving!
