235/40/18 Continental Extreme Contact DW - 8 days old now, and as of 6/7/11 had 131 miles on them. They're good tires, the sidewalls are just too soft for a car of the S4's weight and Tire Rack has a no-return-once-they're-mounted policy. Full road hazard warranty from Continental, receipt from Tire Rack included.

They're listed as a 'Best Seller' and were rated HIGHER than the Michelin PS2s were.

Paid $696 + $55 shipping, so $751 total.

Will take $550 OBO for local sale

I'll have them off the car by this Friday and I anticipate they'll have 200-220 total miles by that time.

Andy

Wow, I can't believe he went and bought those after our conversation about their sidewalls..

Oh well, can't teach everyone I guess..

this would be great tires for something around the 3000 pound limit I would not go with them for anything much heavier than that due to their weak side walls in the problems I have seen

thats why I use DTC or NTB, if I don't like the tire, they would always exchange them out. Sucks that tire rack has such a crappy return policy. GLWS, it probably would be fine on a lighter car like an older STI or Evo. Too bad I just bought a set of Hankook Ventus V12s EVO.

I would suggest he make another call to Tire Rack. I had over 1,000 miles on my Goodyear F1's when tire rack replaced them with no restocking fee for the Pzero's I have now. The difference may be that I had Wheel Medic find them defective but if Tire Rack sold him these tires knowing the car they were going on was too heavy.........

FWIW,

I've also had tire-rack take back some shitty goodyears, but they were deemed "defective" by Discount Tire. They won't take them back simply because he does not "like them" though. That's why I try and deal with local vendors from now on. Discount Tire has a 30 day, xxx mile deal where you can bring them back and get different tires if you don't like them.

Me neither, He kept reading reviews on-line of how people loved them and decided he wanted them even after you told him they were not for his car.

His loss will be someone's gain though. He's accepted that.

My brother is in need of new tires for his Volvo S60R, it's an 07 or 08. Tire guys, would these fit on there and/or be good tires for that car? It's a heavier car so I'm guess probably not.
