wagner
My wife and I had Shanton come out and give us an estimate on doing a retainer wall along with other landscaping work. He did not over promise, he over delivered! The work that Shanton and Dave did was amazing, and I will have them back out to finish some other stuff up. However, you were at my house for like 4 hours tonight and I dont even have any good stripes in my front yard . I even put extra special love in the brats I made you lol. Thanks again for the mulch buddy!
I Eat Rice
My wife and I had Shanton come out and give us an estimate on doing a retainer wall along with other landscaping work. He did not over promise, he over delivered! The work that Shanton and Dave did was amazing, and I will have them back out to finish some other stuff up. Like I said man I am very glad that you liked how it turned out and it was really nice meeting you in person. Thanks for the grub as well. If you need anything do not even worry just call Shanton and I am sure he or I can answer any questions and or help you out. If you need any advice on plant selection for the front let me know and I would be more than happy to make you a design for your bed pictures ? What product was used natural stone or preformed? Twistedrx7
I have a couple questions about the method you used to keep the wall stone in place. 1. Did you glue each row to the previous or just dry stack? 2. Did you back fill behind the wall with 57's and also use a barrier between the dirt and 57's? A suggestion for next time, cut each piece to fit, dont leave gaps even though you wont seem them, this just allows the dirt to push out the block easier. I Eat Rice
Based with 57's and tamped down quite a bit and then put a small coat of #8's down it is usually called #9's but kurtz bros sells them as 8's. That just makes it easier for me to lay them. Those block are inter locking brick they have a lip on the back side that locks each one in to the layor before it keeping it in place and making it easier if ever a rapair needs to be done because your whole wall will not be glued together. It was back filled with 57's and the dirt is just the last little bit on the top because that is going to be a bed here soon so rocks showing in the bed would look tacky. Fabric behind a wall is nice, however, it would have just been overkill for a wall this size. Something bigger we would use fabric and would also put perforated pipe behind the wall to allow for a positive drain. If you cut those block you will ruin them and they will look like shit as well becaue they have a pre made joint look to them. How they come is how you put them in. Now if I was doing something more like this http://www.cutlerlandscaping.com/landscape-paving/landscape-retaining-walls.htm I would have defently cut them.
