Dr. Apex
My moms computer is acting wierd, its not registering all the keystrokes. When typing it omits characters at random, oddly when she goes to remote access for work everything works fine. For me typing 25wpm its not an issue, but for her 100+ wpm it causes a lot of problems. Any ideas??

Dr. Apex
Did the keyboard driver remove/install, didnt do it. Will see if the number lock has any effect though thats a new one on me though my mom is quite savy on this, I would think she would be aware of that, will try it though. ihateu3
Keyboard sounds worn, make sure to buy a new keyboard with anti ghosting features. http://www.microsoft.com/appliedsciences/content/projects/AntiGhostingExplained.aspx
jeffro
start from the top: so is this a laptop keyboard or a desktop keyboard? USB or PS2? if its a desktop, try using a different usb port If its ps2, pull it out and replug it in, perhaps its not seated properly. If that doesnt fix it, replace keyboard. If that doesnt fix it, then idk
Richard Cranium
Yep, as above, try another keyboard. Even if it's a laptop you can plug in an external keyboard and see if the problem goes away.
Dr. Apex
Guess it would help to tell what it is. Desktop, full size keyboard. Will try these suggestions as well, the way she hammers away at that thing it wouldn't be surprised if it just needs replaced. Thanx for the tips.
