Damnit....I came in this thread to see if I could borrow your maf thinking you had an S14 SR. I need a maf, ignitor and coilpack to test on a car im picking up this weekend lol.

Anyway, it's looking good Bob! Are you cruising it down to SLT?

  • 2 weeks later...

throwing around some ideas for a new shift knob.... it would be made from 3/4 inch plate aluminum. Its my attempt at road race meets hillbilly (they would be about 6-8 inches tall).

The black pieces represent rounded black delrin...

Go buy a pistol grip shifter for a Challenger and adapt it to fit.

One of my customers has one (Hurst I think) on his new Challenger R/T 6-speed. It's got carbon fiber on it instaed of wood or just being metal which I think is a little hokie and when I first got in the car I thought the thing looked horrible and completely out of place...

HOWEVER when I drove the car it was the most comfortable and natural feeling shifter I've ever had the pleasure of using.

+1 on the pistol grip. I have one from a '70 B-body non-console car on my T-56 in my Dakota. I drive with it daily and love it. The plastic grips feel cheap though.

One thing you could do, carve your own grips out of wood to fit your hand. Like I said, the plastic ones that come on them feel cheap. Here is a picture of one carved out of african ebony hardwood, on a big block/TKO Dakota. The one in the picture feels really good on my hands. He carved it with a pocket knife and some light sanding. I have some wood ordered, just haven't got around to spending the day doing it.

I was wondering where the smoke was coming from...lol

Looks like the old Blow-by/breather setup was too close to the turbo manifold.

Did some fender work today as well.

While IPs did roll them, the paint got ruined (I told them to go super aggressive regardless ofpaint damage) and needed to be removed and cleaned up.

So, i block sanded down all the crap.

Dont mind all the random vac line... just using extra lengths while chasing down problems, will be fixed soon.... because the problem is fixed.
