KillJoy
On my Lancer, the Stock Crank Pulley is ~ 4lbs. An Aftermarket one is ~ .5lbs. I have "heard" it increases Fuel Mileage as well as a "little" HP / TQ increase. I am not concerned with the power increase, but would like to know if the MPG Improvement is legit. Thoughts? Captain_Panic1647545539
I would say no, only because the heavier one will help keep momentum on highway miles. Though I doubt you'd really see a difference at all either way.
Skinner
less weight to spin. in theory I would say yes but it would be little to nothing at all
Scotty2Hotty
Doubt it'll make a difference on rotating mass. Now if you had a clutch fan and replaced it with an electric fan, you'd see an increase.
Draco-REX
A gross simplification, but: More rotational weight = better highway mileage Less rotational weight = better city mileage
coldsoda
when I changed to a light weight crank pulley on my 02 wrx I did not notice any difference in fuel economy, which I do check at every fill up. It does seem to rev a just a little bit more quickly if you pay close attention.
Got-Boost?
Probably very little change if any. Should rev a little faster but also you may feel more vibration depending how tight OEM tolerances are on that particular vehicle...
