Can a Crank Pully help w/ Fuel Milage?

On my Lancer, the Stock Crank Pulley is ~ 4lbs. An Aftermarket one is ~ .5lbs. I have "heard" it increases Fuel Mileage as well as a "little" HP / TQ increase.

I am not concerned with the power increase, but would like to know if the MPG Improvement is legit.

Thoughts?

when I changed to a light weight crank pulley on my 02 wrx I did not notice any difference in fuel economy, which I do check at every fill up. It does seem to rev a just a little bit more quickly if you pay close attention.
