I have an SA00 helmet that's not been used very much; GForce open face, black in color. Not sure if I want to part with it if it's still 'current', but I haven't used this thing in years. Back in the day you could just about get away with a piece of cardboard shaped into a helmet and spray-painted at an autocross. The first one I went to I just rode along with a friend. He had a newer helmet but had this old helmet from his dad from maybe the 70s that only had half of the liner left for friends to use. It looked like it had been drug behind one of the cars on a few races, and it was still 'legal' back then. I don't think there was really a rule back then, other than to have a helmet of some sort.
