Majority of time it happens on a cold start, but it also happens randomly while under load during acceleration or A/C kicks on. That's why I'm not sure if it's the starter or just a pulley. TurboRust Posted August 8, 2011 Report Share Posted August 8, 2011 if its like all other crv's the a/c compressor is about to explode and cost you 2k. on the plus side, i'd check belt tension first and see if its plenty tight and there are no cracks in it.
