1bad95gt
I'm looking at buying an Accord coupe and I'm pretty sure the transmission is junk. After the car is warmed up it will barely move. So I'm looking at having it rebuilt. Do you guys have any suggestions or should I just run away from it? acklac7
should be throwing a check engine light. Pull the codes then go from there.
1bad95gt
He ran the codes and now he forgets what the codes were, but they did have something to do with the transmission.
TurboRust
trannies are known to be junk, the update and rebuild is likely to cost 2-2500
wnaplay1647545503
I think I have the same tranny in my honda which is known for failure. I was told $1200-2000 average cost to repair from rushmans. I have been told by several people that its not worth chancing a junkyard tranny because the trannies from these years either have ben rebuilt with better parts or soon will. 1bad95gt
I can get the car for $500 from a friend. So I think I am going to buy it and just spend the $1200 or so and have it rebuilt.

SinisterSS
He ran the codes and now he forgets what the codes were, but they did have something to do with the transmission. common transmission codes are: P0720, P0730 & P0740 if any of those codes are set then get it replaced, if you take it somewhere and have it rebuilt make sure they do it right, I've seen several 3.2 TL's & CL's(same transmission as yours) come into the dealership with more problems than before because the rebuild shop did a half ass job. I think I have the same tranny in my honda which is known for failure. I was told $1200-2000 average cost to repair from rushmans. I have been told by several people that its not worth chancing a junkyard tranny because the trannies from these years either have ben rebuilt with better parts or soon will. your's is different, but it has the same problems
