BradyPPC
We had a 2012 Roush RS3 dropped off last week for a little bit of work. When the car came to us it was already equipped with a smaller 82mm supercharger pulley and a mail order tune. Everything else on the car was bone stock. We simply swapped out the spark plugs for the correct heat range plug with the proper gap and did a quick retune on the car. Power came up nicely and the car flat hauls! http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5166&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5170&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5176&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5179&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5182&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5185&g2_serialNumber=1 http://pickupspluscars.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=5188&g2_serialNumber=

Rhett
Was the mail order tune and smaller pulley on when you had it at Brians?
BradyPPC
Was the mail order tune and smaller pulley on when you had it at Brians? No, it had the stock tune which is not very impressive at all.... Once the pulley and the mail order tune were done there were some issues that prevented the car from being driveable. It pretty much came straight here to get worked out.
RX-7 Addict
why is it making less power at 12 lbs of boost than at 10 lbs?
evan9381
Saw one of these tonight in pittsburgh...snapped a pic when he was at the gas pump next to us...sounded mean...we werent sure what it was and had to look it up...ill post the pic later
BradyPPC
why is it making less power at 12 lbs of boost than at 10 lbs? Think of it in terms of blower rpm rather than boost. On this car the same pulley was used for both runs so the blower rpm was the same and the supercharger would be moving the same amount of air. Boost is simply a measurement of restriction and is measured deep in the intake manifold. With TiVCT there is independant controls for each camshaft and simply moving the cams around will either create or remove a restriction without altering blower speed. On this car moving the cams removed a restriction allowing more cylinder fill, which creates higher cylinder pressures, which makes more power. Crossle
This may have been coverd, but why do these cars have 2 coolant reservoirs/caps?
Mr. Jones
This may have been coverd, but why do these cars have 2 coolant reservoirs/caps? Assuming one for the engine and one for the S/C loop...
BradyPPC
Assuming one for the engine and one for the S/C loop... Correct. One for engine coolant and the other for the supercharger.
Mr. Jones
This car was at the track day BEING A BEAST!
BradyPPC
What did it run? We were out in it the day before and the clutch pedal was sticking to the floor above about 6600 rpm. It pulled hard, just some shifts were slow cause you had to wait on the pedal to come up from the floor. Definitely needs a clutch upgrade. TTQ B4U
Back to state one more time that this car is freaking sexy as hell. I'm really liking the new Mustangs. May have to go drive a 5.0L in the very near future.
KennyFKINPowerz
If it was the one at track day I belive it was running 12.60's.
madpony
The first 4 or 5 passes I was running my bud that came with me in the 2004 black C5, I was trying not to make him feel so bad and was hitting the brakes @ the 1000 foot for him to catch up,, was running mid 12's. After that he was on the video camera on the wall, ran high 11's and a best of 11.57 @ 123 MPH / 60 ft of 1.802. I was trying to wait and see if they were kicking guys out for no roll cages / harness before I let loose a little. The clutch stuck to the floor alot, and lost momentum,, should see 10's with a new clutch. I probably will not see the 10's though,, I will not go back until the spring & Brady will be doing some work on it over the winter and at that point should be straight into the 9's. For now it is a lot of fun though!
Mr. Jones
Yeah, I thought I saw it run mid 11's at some point. I was busy doing laps. Car is a beast!

BradyPPC
thanks for the explanation! /me dumb when it comes to supercharges vs. turbos No problem. It can be confusing. Most cars boost only changes if the blower rpm changes. These cars are completely different. Measured boost can vary just off the cam angles the car is running.
