Bam Posted October 1, 2011 Report Share Posted October 1, 2011 I noticed something similar last time I used my Maytag oven but wasn't paying attention/in the kitchen while cooking so I think I just brushed it off. Now I attempted to preheat the oven and was standing pretty close to it prepping food and realized I not only smelled a gas smell, but I also felt a significant amount of heat coming from the left side of my oven top. Like as in its seeping out of the back/side/top of the unit itself. The right side is completely cool like normal. I quickly shut the oven off and googled, but wasn't able to find a similar issue.
