I take it we are talking about a SBC, so what distributor, ignition box, are we talking about here?
STEVE-O
Check the wires? You say you got power to the dist but not to the plugs so do you have spark at the end if the wires?

pdqwagon
Make sure the button in the cap is contacting the rotor. If you dont have spark at any plug I dont think it could be the wires.

Cordell
it is a SBC i have power into the dizzy but no spark at the plugs Well since you don't want to include what ignition parts you're using. Does the rotor turn when you crank the engine? Does the tach move? Do yuo get spark out of the coil? I'm going to assume that since you haven't said whether its an HEI, aftermarket with external coil, using an ignition box or not, or if it just some old stock shit. I can't understand how you expect any good info to come of your thread when you won't tell us about what you're working on.

Green Bastard
If your getting spark at the coil but not at the plug wires then replace the cap and rotor, happened to me once on my camaro, the rotor got old and spark was goin straight through to the dizzy shaft rather than distributing the spark properly
