Evo IX CEL Code P0037 Help Needed

Hello all,

 

My new (used) Evo just threw a P0037 code for rear O2 Sensor going out. The previous owner installed a test pipe so the O2 isn't really needed. I don't want to have to buy a $200 sensor for no reason and I have read there are ways of disabling it; however it is not something I am capable of doing. Has anyone ever disabled this? Any other suggestions? I just want the CEL to go away and it not to effect anything.

I have a CEL code on for that and other things, I believe it can be disabled on the stock Ecu or maybe you'll need to go AEM. check EvolutionM.net for great info.

Idk if they still make them for newer cars but, they used to sell an 02 sensor bypass, it plugged into the o2 sensor plug and always just gives the computer an optimal reading. If you can find one it would prolly be a good way to get rid of the CEL. check ebay, that's where I know they used to sell em.

you need a resistor if you want it to go away. Assuming your not going to put one in. Just search CEL fix on an evo forum. its pretty simple.
