THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR EAST CENTRAL

INDIANA...SOUTHEAST INDIANA...NORTHEAST KENTUCKY...NORTHERN

KENTUCKY...CENTRAL OHIO...MIAMI VALLEY OF OHIO...SOUTH CENTRAL

OHIO...SOUTHWEST OHIO AND WEST CENTRAL OHIO.

 

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

 

HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

 

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

 

AN ARCTIC COLD FRONT WILL SWING ACROSS THE REGION THURSDAY

AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING. THIS WILL CAUSE RAIN SHOWERS TO

CHANGE TO SNOW SHOWERS. SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR THROUGH

MUCH OF THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY BEFORE TAPERING TO FLURRIES AND

ENDING. ACCUMULATIONS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THE I-70

CORRIDOR AND POINTS NORTH. 1 TO 2 INCHES CAN BE EXPECTED FURTHER

SOUTH. IN ADDITION...MUCH COLDER AIR AND BRISK CONDITIONS WILL

OCCUR RESULTING IN WIND CHILL READINGS IN THE SINGLE DIGITS

THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY. WIND CHILLS AROUND ZERO WILL BE

POSSIBLE FRIDAY NIGHT AND EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN WILMINGTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER

WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON EST

FRIDAY.

 

* LOCATIONS...EAST CENTRAL INDIANA...CENTRAL AND WEST CENTRAL OHIO

INCLUDING THE MIAMI VALLEY.

 

* HAZARD TYPES...ACCUMULATING SNOW.

 

* ACCUMULATIONS...2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW.

 

* WINDS...WEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH.

 

* TIMING...RAIN SHOWERS WILL CHANGE OVER TO SNOW SHOWERS BY DARK.

THE MORE PERSISTENT SNOW SHOWERS WILL DIMINISH WITHIN A FEW

HOURS OF THE CHANGE OVER. HOWEVER...ADDITIONAL SNOW SHOWERS WILL

SPREAD BACK INTO THE AREA...MAINLY AFTER MIDNIGHT. THESE SNOW

SHOWERS WILL THEN TAPER OFF DURING FRIDAY MORNING.

 

* IMPACTS...SLICK SPOTS MAY DEVELOP ON AREA ROADWAYS LATE THIS

AFTERNOON AND THIS EVENING...PRIMARILY DUE TO THE POSSIBILITY

OF MELTING SNOW AND THEN REFREEZING AS TEMPERATURES FALL.

FURTHER TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES ARE EXPECTED OVERNIGHT INTO FRIDAY

MORNING DUE TO SNOW ACCUMULATIONS. IN ADDITION...GUSTY WINDS MAY

BLOW SNOW BACK OVER TREATED ROADWAYS AND CAUSE MORE SLIPPERY

CONDITIONS.

REMEMBER...A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR SNOW MEANS THAT PERIODS

OF SNOW WILL CAUSE PRIMARILY TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR

Thanks for the info again as always Jeff. We made some decent $change today, even tho this storm didn't accumulate much due to the heavy winds. I saw 4-5" drifts in some areas tho

 

I LOL everytime i see someone with a plow on this winter. Waste of gas.

 

And yea, those winds are really whipping out there.

BTW, heres one of the best things ive discovered so far, just behind wunderground.

Its a free site, free to register, and runs out of your browser. Gives you access to high def radars, models, analysis, and other detailed information. You can change the 3 different windows to different things. Takes some playing around with but is really customizable. Heres a sample of what i have mine set to look like. Switching between images and different radars is a breeze. you do have to register though. If you have your console open and the NWS decides to release a HWO it will beep and notifiy you immediately. i just got one stating that the WWA has been cancelled. at 11:57 AM

for some reason the northeast side of franklin county has been getting pounded ALL morning. just keeps redeveloping right in that one spot.
