Rotarded1647545491
scared to use the pressure thing just in case it makes it worse It wont. Just do it before you overheat and do catastrophic damage.
Browning
alright guys I am pretty sure I found it today. On the front of the engine there's a metal tube that runs parallel with the block. the lower water hose and another small hose hooks up to it. It appears that the metal tube is what's leaking. Behind and underneath of it is soaked and it's running down onto the oil pan. found a pic online and circled the part in red. It seems it's running to the water pump but I really don't the pump itself is leaking? http://i.imgur.com/y1GhD.jpg
Browning
can't find the name of the tube but it appears it's just got a rubber seal on it? I'm pretty positive this is what is causing the leak. I hope so anyways. Here's a better pic but it's from a pt cruiser which is supposedly just about the same. http://www.hot-neon.com/gallery/albums/engineswap/normal_engine284.jpg Been seeing people calling it a water pump inlet tube and that they rust out pretty commonly. I can't find a part # or anything though
acklac7
Rent a pressurizer and make sure. Bump the pressure a tad bit over what the system is rated for and coolant should start spewing from even the tiniest of leaks.
Browning
Well that wasn't it. Went out today to start tearing it down and right when I started I had to move a little hose and boom, dripping started. Turns out it was the little hose that runs from the tstat housing to the water pump inlet pipe. Didn't even have to remove anything lol. Just added a clamp. No leaks
