Testing how well it does donuts In the snow?

 

Might be testing a new traction control.

 

I'd almost say they might be testing an AWD system, but I don't see axle nuts on the front wheels.

 

Headlights are more Ferrari-like. Profile looks much the same; it might still be mostly mule.

Probably every car put out now is tested in every imaginable (reasonable) condition, situation. Just because it doesn't make sense doesn't mean a customer isn't going to drive it that way.

 

And yes, that car will have ESC (including traction control), it's mandatory on every car 2012 and up.

ALL cars go to winter test. ABS, TCS, and ESC all need tuning on snow and ice, plus the powertrain calibators will take cold trips.
