TurboGoKart
So I know this foam is supposed to be replaced every 5yrs, but I've had this in there just barely a year. Had some stuttering issues in higher rpm's, took my pre-pump filter off and found this. Any idea? I've only used 93 octane. http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h244/turbogokart/2ed5e0c9.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h244/turbogokart/3e2d3175.jpg Cleaned out it looked like this: http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h244/turbogokart/ea14e350.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h244/turbogokart/26c3fa7a.jpg
Patterson
I'm not surprised by that. The foam never lasts as long as they say does. It's even worse on Methanol and E85.
rl
had you cleaned the filter with the cell since it was new? When they are new they can do that in a hurry.
TurboGoKart
No I didn't clean the filter since installing the cell. What about a new cell makes it break that stuff down like that?
Mattsv8
what kind of cell is it. that seems excesive to me. ive had my cell for 15 yrs same foam c 12 c14 c 16 and e85 been in it, and some 94. i find very little peices in my filters but im shure they are from shoving the funnel into the middle of the foam. some is normal. also what power level? thats a small ass filter
TurboGoKart
It's an RCI cell. Stockish power. No power adders. That's the pre-pump filter. Fuel goes thru that filter, Aeromotive pump, then thru the Corvette FPR/filter unit before getting to the rail.
Mattsv8
What aeromotive pump?
TurboGoKart
Platinum series. Good to 700hp. A bit overkill now, but they last, and I'll use more of it in the future.
