351mach11647545510
Anyone had surgical pins removed before. Got 5 in my hand that are coming out in 2 weeks and just wandering what to expect. They still hurt pretty good for the most part and any kind of contact against them is VERY uncomfortable. Is having them removed, a pretty painful experience? SpaceGhost
Mine were not painful to remove in my wrist. I had a nerve block each time they went in to work on the wrist, I had 4 surgeries on my wrist.

Is having them removed, a pretty painful experience? it says you're a correction officer as your occupation--you wouldn't want prisoners to know you cried like a bitch when they were removed would you? if they're sticking out of the skin, they should come out easy--some even fall out. just remember when we pin a 6 year old's elbow, we remove the pins in the office as well. put on the man pants and you'll be fine

oh8sti
had to pulled from the end of my finger when i was 14. It felt very weird, not really painful, but just kinda made me queasy. They come out easy, my doc used pliers, so i was all like WFT bro at first.
kirks5oh
Just trying to get a rough idea of what to expect. if they're sticking out of the skin (most are), you can expect the dr to pull them out with needle nose pliers---maybe a little pain, maybe not. maybe some bleeding from the pin sites--not uncommon. I think Kirk was saying that you should expect to feel the sweet burlap scratch of man pants, nothing more and nothing less.
