Well, Dad just got a new bike.

It's a 1978 CB750....

now before you say "man, that's not rare, there are 50 of them in my friend's garages"

I doubt any of them have 2078.3 original miles....YES some people here have done more miles in a weekend than this thing has done in 31 years, and it shows...

King and queen seat is the only part of this bike that is not 100% factory original.

too bad its so nice....that would make a good cafe...

I got 2 good candidates for that, a 77 that needs carb work, and a 79 that needs a charging system, if you're interested in either, both run, and both will be liquidated, i'm sure.

VERY nice Duane!! My dad's first bike was a red '76, and he absolutely LOVED that thing!

You're right....That seat's gotta go! Damn thing's WAY too big for that bike

He's turning it into a tourer, he just put a Vetter Windjammer SS on it, a chrome backrest, and luggage rack.

Sounds like the same setup dad used to have. Where'd he find a Windjammer these days???

We're installing a stereo in it this week.

Nowwww why doesn't that surprise me?!? :p

Funny. When I bought my CB750 K5, it had a seat just like it. Mine was not nearly as nice but has turned out to be a good bike.

This one is a beauty. I gotta ask, how much did he pay for it?

$2650 wa the winning bid...

^ ^ ^ Now that looks like Dad's old bike.....Minus the white Vetter fairing ;)

What's the "K5"?

K5 was one of the years (though i don't remember what year) 75 maybe?

the windjammer is on, but needs painted and striped to match the bike, i'll post up pix when it's done....

a couple people have demanded MOAR!!!

Sweet Bike wish i had a seat like that for my long hauls anyways here's some info

It was available in one of two colors:

  1. Candy Alpha Red
  2. Excel Black

The gas tank stripe was gold with a gold and red pinstripe

The "750 FOUR" side cover emblem was a graphic design

There was a "K" side cover decal and stripe

The seat is contoured in a two-stage design

There was a two-throttle cable system (pull open and pull closed)

The exhaust system was a 4-into-4

The engine was a 736cc SOHC 2-valve dry sump inline 4 cylinder linked to a 5-speed transmission and chain drive

The serial number began CB750-2800001

later James
