zeitgeist57
Before I get flamed... This would be kept in a condo in FL, to be used instead of renting a car everytime we're down there. I've driven rental Sebrings before...body is as stiff as a week-old salad...but especially in FL you can't beat 2002-2005 JXi convertibles for less than $6k well-optioned and relatively low miles...curious about anyone owning one on here... I wouldn't buy one anytime soon, but in some recreational car searches it checks off a lot of boxes for Florida cruising for notta lotta dough... Patterson
As a Vacation car that will sit most of the time, it's palatable. My Uncle owns one and enjoys it. Like I told him, accept it for what it is. A Chrysler that happens to be a Convertible.

Furloaf
How frequently would you get a rental? My thinking is that if you get a Sebring for $5k, how many times renting would it take to even out? If the amount isn't what you would likely use then I would just stick with rentals which will be much nicer than a Sebring.
El Karacho1647545492
be scared of those transmissions. also, they don't make them in manual do they? begs the question why you'd even consider it
TTQ B4U
Go cheap Miata convertible and never put the top up, just roll it in the garage and be done with it.
Rocky31186
A Sebring sitting for a period of time = no good. I would suggest maybe some type of 4x4 if there is any sand. Like a wrangler. Take the doors and top off.
zeitgeist57
Yeah...silliness. Thanks, CR. Need to be down there far more often to justify the investment.
ForeverMaker
Horrible idea. I agree with the Wrangler.
zeitgeist57
New plan: 1) Await next-gen 2013/14 4-door Jeep Wrangler diesel 6-speed manual 2) Buy it, rock it for 20+years 3) Semi-retire to FL condo once kids go through college 4) Bring classic, one-owner diesel Wrangler with me. 5) Win at life.
El Karacho1647545492
Step 1.5) Convert diesel, 6 speed Wrangler to JK-8 Independence https://www.google.com/search?sugexp=chrome,mod%3D5&q=jeep+wrangler+independence&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=LKLgT5e9J4ia8gSzqfD5DA&biw=1366&bih=667&sei=LqLgT_K8HIKg8QSitNW7DQ
BloodRed
I wouldn't suggest it either. Most came with the 2.7L which is well known for it's oil sludge issues.
