starkmaster03
I have a Griffin aluminum radiator for the Trans Am and I'm looking to have a bung/pipe welded for the steam vent on these LS1's. Where can I get the pipe and get it welded on? I'm also looking to see if anyone local sells mandrel bent piping.

AJ
You could also drill and tap the top o the water pump for it.
starkmaster03
You could also drill and tap the top o the water pump for it. I read that over on LS1 tech but wasn't to sure how that might affect the flow. I also wonder why no one T's it into the heater core hoses. AJ
Don't know. There have been thousands of people that have done it when they do the swap. I'll be doing it to mine when it gets assembled to go back in the car.
LS_Sonoma
That what I did and it works like a f'n charm. Just picked up a barbed fitting from the home depot and connected the rubber hose from the t to it with a hose clamp. Just make sure you put in a spot away from casting creases to reduce potential stress cracks. I put mine facing forward.

TurboNova
You can just buy a 1/4" or 1/8" aluminum bung from jegs for 4 bucks and have someone tig it in then just put a barbed fitting with a clamp on it. Similiar to what I did except I have a -4 going to a vapor setup from kurt urban

starkmaster03
I have done this on multiple setup without issue I think i'm going to try this. I can't find a tap the right size. The fitting says it is a '1/4" NPT x 3/8" Hose'. Looks like I need a 1/2-18NF but can't find one and don't have one in my master kit. Anyone have one or know where to get one? Like today? starkmaster03
I bought the items to tap the water pump but I "T'ed" into the front heater core hose for a test. I drove it around on Sunday without issue.
AJ
It can go about anywhere. The 5.3l trailblazers t into the heater core line about 6" away from the front outlet.
