N. Korea launches rocket

So amid seemingly everyone telling them not to, North Korea went ahead with their missle launch. This can't end well.:nono:

I'm sure obama can plead with them not to launch another missle. He'll tell them about change and how it can benefit them.:lol:Talking and pleading works so well in this world of nations against nations. Peace is a fantasy because everyone wants to rule the world.

"We will immediately consult with our allies in the region, including Japan and (South Korea), and ... bring this matter before the (U.N. Security) Council," Obama said. "I urge North Korea to abide fully by the resolutions of the U.N. Security Council and to refrain from further provocative actions."

if they decide to do anything about it, no one will follow through.

n korea is like the child that does anything for attention. they offer nothing to the world economy etc, so they do shit like this.

what's the big deal anyway? we have rockets and missles we launch all the damn time.

we also have some of the most deadly weapons in the world...why should we tell anyone else they cannot?

americans are huge hypocrites.

Great outlook on the whole idea.... There has to be a balance to the power, who do you want to test it and have it, the idiots and cynical tyrants or the more stable countries that will use those weapons to maintain order, not create chaos.

Robhawk is also right..you don't want weapons like nukes in the hand of irrational leaders. Having said that, I'm willing to bet these countries who are trying to get nukes are just using them as bargaining chips. Country A can reach and attack any country in the world. Country B knows this and feels as if it's voice/opinion doesn't matter and it isn't on the same playing field when it comes to negotiations. Country B acquires nukes to say 'Ok..now talk to us..we can hit you just like you can hit us'.

It's human nature...and it will NEVER change.

Even France cannot launch from home. Launching from France would be toward the East, in general, flying over... lots of other countries. They maintain a very successful launch facility base in French Guiana in South America. International flight regulations require launches to be announced, flight path declared, debris fall zones identified, etc etc. North Korea barely abides by this, if at all. United Nations accords of all types are ignored as well.

North Korea is a paranoid renegade separatist nation, shrouded in secrecy. Isolated by choice, as well as international opinion, they are going it alone. And part of their national mandate is to point that out to everyone else, by any means possible.

why do you feel it's ok for anyone to tell someone else they can't have something?

does N.Korea go to the un bitching you are allowed to own assault riffles and are going to impose sanctions on the usa until you are not allowed to own one?

what gives us or anyone the right to say a country cannot have any kind of weapons they want especially when ourselves have them. what guarantee does N.Korea have we are not planning on using our nukes on them?

it's easy to make simple judgments based on one side of the argument....

Mutually assured destruction is much more likely to happen when idiots get big explosives. Do you want that, and what is an assault rifle?

BTW, reality is... this was probably an Iranian test of an Iranian missile, using Iranian technology and Iranian personnel. And North Korea was happy to participate.

It was already noted that Iranian personel were in N Korea leading up to the launch.

North Korea is NOT going it alone. They are in bed with Iran..and Russia and China to a certain extent. They are far from being truly 'isolated'.

One of the problems is that it went directly over Japan. The first stage seperated just prior to going feet dry over japan. What if there was a failure at this stage? No more Playstation for us.

"Now it's time for me to tell you about Young Nastyman,

archrival and nemesis of Wonderboy, with powers comparable to Wonderboy.

What powers you ask? I dunno how 'bout the power of flight?

That do anything for ya? That's levitation, holmes.

How 'bout the power to kill a yak from 200 yards away...

with mind bullets! That's telekinesis, Kyle.

How 'bout the power to move you?"

You really need to have a perspective on this, Kim Jong-Il is a mad man surrounded by mad men who crave nothing but power, considering as well that they can barely feed their own people, but continue to threaten every country in the region. Did you know that the borders of the demilitarized zone (this is the area between N. Korea and S. Korea) is the most heavily defended area in the world? The reason for this is that no one knows what N Korea will do at any point in time. Nuclear weapons are no joke and they must be controlled. The honest reason anyone still has them is to defend their country and the rest of the world from the other people that have them. This is a time far from the Cold War and no longer are nuclear weapons seen as offensive weapons. They are defensive weapons to any superpower. If you really want to go into details why dont you look up neutron bombs, those are nasty little bitches and hope to god no dumbass power hungry asshole gets his hands on that.

Point being, if you really want to have power, you have to have the responsibiltes to have that power first.
