McLaren was in the wrong the slower car was already in the turn when the McLaren tried to squeeze through

 

They aren't in the same class so they weren't racing each other. In multi-class endurance racing the slower classes have to give way to the faster classes. The hatch should have stayed wide.

 

If this was late in the race, it's likely the hatch's driver was fatigued and just didn't check his mirrors.

 

If it was early in the race, then it was probably a rich amateur getting his jollies among the professionals like the accident at Le Mans between the Ferrari and Toyota.
