dish vs. direcTV

I called Direct TV to get some possible information to see if I could get service in my area. They have since called me twice a day since that day trying to sell me service.

I plan on switching to them if I can get a signal at end of month. But they are definately pretty fucking annoying.

If you're in North America, you have DirecTV service. It's satellite based.

The big question is whether you have a siteline from where you can mount your dish to the satellite in the south. That's going to be specific to your house and they won't know until someone comes out. Or you can probably find sighting instructions on the internet. It'll only take a compass and some way to find an angle of inclination.

You mean for Whole Home? According to their website you can have 15 TV's hooked up.

at an additional cost.... I have a 4 bedroom home, plus great room, plus basement, plus man cave / shop / barn.... cost me a fortune to have cable in all those rooms where, I have 1 HD-DVR and the rest analogue with Time Warner.... the problem is, Time Warner is just on the edge of being better financially... give them 6 months and they will cost more and I'll switch.

That has been my concern. I live in a valley on top of a big hill with giant trees on north and south side of my house.

No might be a good idea though. I think their user interface is fairly fucking archaic too. How is directv's interface?

The Insight guy could've just been blowing smoke up my ass, but when Insight is fully absorbed into TWC, they are supposed to be rolling out a new user interface and faster standard internet.
