Sturg1647545502
Its been a busy summer for me complete with a bachelor party via driving to CO for a week, Maui HI for our wedding and then Kauai HI for the honeymoon. Here are a few pics. I stayed back and did some down hill mountain biking while my boys knocked out one of the higher 14ers in CO, Mt. Elbert. Yes that's Coors light. Taste the Rockies. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/s720x720/582090_916767673577_1161657901_n.jpg Two days before Mt. Elbert we all packed into Ice Lake Basin CO and spent the night up there. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/165963_916769659597_707485727_n.jpg Black Canyon in Gunnison Natl Park, CO http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/524049_916767189547_175014627_n.jpg 1.5 weeks later I found myself getting married in Maui. We got bused up to the summit of Mt. Haleakala (10,023 ft), saw a beautiful sun rise and then coasted down the mountain road on bikes. http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/552668_10102070820301435_165436419_n.jpg http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/488381_10102070822651725_1854845220_n.jpg After the wedding in Maui we shot out to Kauai HI drove up to Waiemea Canyon http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/s720x720/268648_10102070965216025_1766358733_n.jpg and for the big cap off to the honeymoon we sea kayaked 17mi around the Na Pali Coastline (which is only accessible by watercraft, helio or hiking) http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/427530_10102070966613225_397754950_n.jpg http://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/482119_10102070967012425_2023877943_n.jpg http://mappery.com/maps/Na-Pali-Coast-Kayak-Map.mediumthumb.jpg Edited August 7, 2012 by Sturg
Sturg1647545502
And a week away from his 57th birthday my dad summited Lone Peak in Salt Lake City 5,200ft of vert gain over 9miles. No ropes or anything! http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/snowdoc83/2012-08-05143340.jpg a rather dicey final climb to the summit http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/snowdoc83/2012-08-05130830.jpg http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk57/snowdoc83/2012-08-05133258.jpg
CRed05
Awesome, I'm about to start planning a trip out to CO in the Rover and hitting up a couple of mountain passes like Imogene or Argentine.

We were out around Ouray (where the Imogene pass starts?). Beautiful. Definitely do it.

10phone2
Wow, I can't believe you kayaked the Na Pali coast line. I never got a chance to do it. Did you get to check out the green sand beach on Kaui?

10phone2
shit, I will have to find out from my parents who are checking up on their vacation home on Oahu. I will let you know in a day or two. I use to travel so much playing junior tennis in Hawaii that it all became a blur. You without question, had a great trip.
