Buck531
Anyone got any tips to get the oil build up off this intercooler? I'm not separating the plates either. I tried a full can of brake cleaner. It helped but not that great. Then I ran some simple green in the fins and then some water through it. Would engine degreaser help anymore? http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk314/buck531/CAM00081.jpg
twistedfocus1647545489
I'm with you on the idea you could hose it down with that engine degreaser foam and let it sit overnight. That stuff usually works pretty well on anything greasy.

AJ
I tried simple green and my garden hose.. didn't do much. AJ you serious about the vinegar? Very. You'll still have to scrub some but I use vinigar to clean all kinds of stuff. Cuts through greese and oils very well and it's cheap. Buckeye1647545503
Drop it off at Napa (or machine shop) and give them 20 to put it in the washer
TurboNova
The intercooler I had on the 3800sc fiero was fairly dirty I just scrubbed it with simple green and used a 3m roloc disc to scuff it. I was going to powder coat it but it looked good enough at that point
Mensan
Dawn, vinegar, kerosene, degreaser, tranny fluid are all good ideas.
