Draco-REX
Been following this for a while. An easy Stage 2 STI engine will put the car in Veyron territory as far as power/weight goes. First body will be a roadster. I'm hoping for a targa version in a year or two.
Mr. Jones
And we still have a better chance of having gold meteorites rain down and make us all millionaires than Clay actually buying one of these. :gabe:

Aaron
Buy kit, buy donor and buy head gasket x10
Draco-REX
Buy kit, buy donor and buy head gasket x10 Only if he does a NA swap. Turbo engines don't have the headgasket issues.
Aaron
Only if he does a NA swap. Turbo engines don't have the headgasket issues. Boost creep, ringland issues, pick your subaru lol.
Aaron
Seems like a pretty cool car, looks decent, not too pricey, seems cool.

zeitgeist57
Brb rebuilding another 6cyl 2wd pickup :dumb: Gabe's gonna gabe :gabe: BRB racking up hours in a Cessna, BRB hanging out at C&C, BRB taking care of business, BRB boating in the Gulf of Mexico... POS VETT
I can almost see it. Sounds like a grand concept, but something is terribly amiss. For a 4-cyl-powered ultra car, I'd probably pick the Ariel Atom 3 over this, but then again an Atom 3 with zero option costs nearly 4x . thorne
I tried to sale my wagon as the perfect swapper But now I'm building one. 400+whp STi-RA Gear box LSD Front Diff
thorne
Boost creep, ringland issues, pick your subaru lol. I've got plenty of clients running around in the 400+ range that beat there cars daily. Boost Creep can be solved with proper wastegate porting or external gates. Subaru's EJ255/7 are good to low-mid 400awhp. one thing that causes them to blow is people trying to hard to get as lean as possible. Keep um rich and they last. Though I did crack a ringland once... @ 370awhp ... (on a 1991 nonturbo motor@24psi+). These motors are tougher then people think.

BigOxley
I'd say the ej257 is pretty stout.
thorne
Are you kidding, a 4G can take WAYY more abuse. I'd tend to agree with jones about the 4g. some how those motors will take some amazing abuse. 500-550chp is impressive for a bone stock 4cyl. Mr. Jones
So, DSM's are reliable? :dumb: KillJoy Yes.... As reliable as any 20 year old turbo car that has been beaten to death it's whole life. Buy DSM and rebuild everything and it will be awesome, just like most cars. Green Bastard
I would put most modified engines in the same boat as far as reliability. the more you modify an engine, the less reliable it becomes.
