unfunnyryan Posted November 2, 2012 Report Share Posted November 2, 2012 Tonight at powder room, right around 7pm, my girlfriend roommate and I saw one of the most wreckless, stupid acts of putting lives in danger that should of put two idiots in jail. I was on lane one with my roommate, gf was out in lobby. I've just finished a mag I get a tap on the shoulder from the roommate. I'm fucking astonished to see the guys (should refer to them as children) in one of the middle lanes about 2-3 feet back from the firing line, one with gun in hand, other with iphone taking pictures. The slide wasn't locked back. There was no clear indication of the gun being safe. Then their stupid catches up with them. The one with the gun posed for his buddy, with the gun pointing in his mouth, and another pose pointing it directly at the temple, muzzle sweeping just about everyone. It was a chilling moment right before an employee/RO came out and took the (rental) gun, escorted them out of the range, and according to my gf, told them to fuck off and never come back in a somewhat polite way. Am I crazy for thinking people like this should be in jail? Someone could of been killed in response to what they were seen doing, it could of been the start to a murder/suicide for all anyone could have known at the time. Part of me thinks darwinism has failed tonight, but will be back in the near future. (also +1 for powder room for giving us a $5 discount, due to gf now being enlisted in navy and talking with the guys there for quite a while :thumbup:) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I quit going to Powder Room a while ago due to not feeling safe around other shooters that visit there. I've been to other ranges multiple times and had no problems. If Mil/LEO accept the burden and responsibilty of operating a firearm, why not civilians? Glad you didn't get hurt, was this a range where the firing lines had a camera or was there a range safety at the line? My parents are both VEHEMENTLY anti-guns. My dad grew up in a fascist regime where guns were instruments of oppression, so he's got an understandable bias against them. However, despite their personal feelings, they both made sure my sister and I were exposed to proper firearm training at an early age with my uncle since they knew we'd eventually form our own opinions and wanted us to be knowledgeable and safe. My sister decided to not be into guns at all, I did, and I'm very thankful for the early lesson of "never point at anything you wouldn't willingly kill". Staff has always been friendly...but now I'm questioning what the benefits are of spending a bit more (you know, living longer) and driving out to NASR where things are a bit more controlled, minus the political rants that occur in there. Maybe I should start going in the mornings, might be less idiots out than at 6-8pm. Glad you didn't get hurt, was this a range where the firing lines had a camera or was there a range safety at the line? Cameras and a window that everyone can see through. I'm glad they apparently pay pretty good attention to those cameras too. Oh, and they also had to come out for a pair of young girls not even half an hour afterwards whom apparently had no idea how to hang up a target, load a magazine, etc. Guy who had to come help them several times jumped when they muzzle swept him. Now these clowns go in there and make similar gestures. Along with disregard for others and their safety. Should have it on the video. Should be turned over to cops. I bought my first gun from Poweder Room, they have very friendly staff and it's convenient to go shoot pistols there for sure. Unfortunately I've had a few instances where I don't feel safe. Not as bad of instances as you were involved in but, still something that didn't make me feel safe. One guy shot himself in the parking lot, and IIRC last year a girl rented a gun, was receiving instruction from one of the guys there, then out of nowhere just put it to her head and pulled the trigger. Never point a weapon at anything you do not intend to shoot. Always keep your finger straight and off the trigger until ready to fire. Always keep the weapon on safe until ready to fire.
