If any one went to alum creek today HOLY CRAP!

They said the water has risen 8 feet, yes FEET! my jet ski doc was broken off in the storm a few days ago and floating in the lake, luckily they were able to get it but its still broke and I had to swin though water to get to it today

and the water break wall by the marina ... almost the entire wall is under water, all the rocks are under water only thing showing is maybe a foot of dirt. it was crazy

you can see the picnic area is completely gone and benches under water

Yet the Great Lakes are at record lows.

I wish I'd saved my pics I took the other day cruising up River Rd. Deleted them after sending them to my gf. Whole sections underwater. Some spots as far as the eye could see. I had to keep jumping back on 257. I turned around at Prospect but if it was that flooded on River rd, guaranteed the West part of Prospect was probably flooded, too. Still, it's been worse one other time since I've lived here.

Wait. I do have one left on my phone. Sorry, it's a crappy one. I deleted the two good ones I sent and forgot this one. Anyway...

This is looking north on River Rd at this location. http://goo.gl/maps/Y1yFb

Keep in mind this is NOT a picture of the river but of the roadway! The river lies to the left of those trees on the left.

I had already forded quite a ways north on River Rd upto this point. The intersection here was a high point on the road and gave me a spot to get out without getting my boots too soaked. After seeing this was all there was ahead of me (and being in the Vibe), I wisely decided to 3pt turn that bitch round and give up my trans-oceanic quest.

I got out to alum marina around 7 to do some night fishing on the peninsula you're talking about. Just before the sun went down this sailboat just sails right into it, only sailing or drifting or whatever but moving enough to bury the nose in the mud/rocks. Couple other guys fishing nearby screamed and yelled at the guy seen on the deck in just a speedo but he was waaaaaaay passed out. When he finally woke up he was very clearly super hammered and white as a ghost. Without saying anything he just put his kicker motor down and backed the thing out of there. He then just headed on down the lake. I'm not sure if the boat was hurt or not but it looked like he was the only one on it.

After that adventure and well after dark, a ~25' cuddy cabin was haulin ass and heading straight into the peninsula. Had everybody fishing tonight not screamed and yelled at them it would have been over for the boat. He put it in full reverse less than 50 yds from shore and BARELY got it stopped...

I'm still out here so fingers crossed they'll be some more entertainment.
