I'm off work tomorrow and will be available to show the car. I will be out of town this weekend though. $3750 on stock wheels with good tires, and all the parts I have.

May be a longshot, but what the hell. Received an offer to buy it cash, then the buyer disappeared. At that point I had already researched/scouted out a replacement. Now I'm ready to find this car a new home! Sorry in advance to any of you who may have seen the couple of ads for the car on other local forums. I'm tired of seeing them too.

The car was purchased in February of this year as a summer and occasional autocross car. Previous owner put very few miles on it, and always had it garaged. It was resprayed during his ownership. The car has been autocrossed 3 times under my ownership. During the third event the trans mount failed.

BFI .5 mounts replaced all of the OEM's. Since it was under the knife I paid to have Schrick 268 cams, and a polished valve cover with 2.9 clone manifold installed. A coolant flush was performed at the same time and replaced with VW G12.

The car is not abused when driven daily, I feel like I'm probably too gentle on it during autox as well. I'm mainly parting ways because the car will likely never be as competitive as I aspire to be. Not to mention I really want something RWD.

Mods (already installed):

- Autotech adjustable rear sway, already on firmest setting

- new Powerslot front rotors with Hawk HPS pads

- Neuspeed front strut tower bar

- Magnaflow catback (fairly new, no rust)

- Schrick 268 cams

- polished 2.9 clone manifold

- BFI .5 mounts all around

- HD/R32 front and poly rear control arm bushings

- OEM 90mm lip (the expensive one!)

- Pioneer head unit with Bluetooth

- TT cam chip

- (starting to feel tired) Bilstein's with Eibach springs

- 16' CCW knock off's with brand new Kuhmo XS tires with discount tire warranties (less than 1k miles on both)

- Neuspeed plug wires

- all-red taillights professionally done

Parts (not yet installed):

- NIB Brembo rear rotors with Hawk HPS pads

- NIB rear wheel bearing replacement kit for both sides

- NIB lower temp fan sensor

- BBM detachable rear strut tower bar

- G60 ecodes, I've been holding out for a clean set of VRs. Will come with necessary wiring harness should you choose to use them

- OEM Speedlines. Could use a refinish, but are straight with newer Kuhmo AST's

- PO supplied night shaded tails

- Dubnutz braided fuel lines

- used Diesel Geek short shifter

- much, much, more! My basement is filled with replacement interior pieces ranging from OEM refurbished radio w/code, NIB OEM 6 disc with extra cartridges, antennas, vents, an entire 93 dash, door cards, Corrado Bentley manual, etc. If you purchase bring a friend with a truck!

Good:

- 118xxx original miles

- Current shifter bushings were replaced the day after I purchased the car

- tie rods were completely replaced when the control arm bushings went in, and a full alignment was done

- Passat sunroof/motor is functional

- Spoiler, and switch for spoiler are fully functional

- MFA works, but seems out of range sometimes

- all other power options work except heated seats which I've never attempted to hook up

- heat works

- drivers side door striker replaced with reinforced replacement. Have one for the passenger side, but haven't gotten around to it. Also replaced both door pins

- new serpentine belt

Bad:

- paint looks good, but not perfect

- body has two dents, both were on car when I purchased

- one spot of rust on hatch

- there is a gash in the front bumper behind the license plate. PO said a truck with a hitch backed into him in a parking lot. If I were concerned with it I would replace the bumper and have the car resprayed. Instead I run a front plate.

- windshield has a small ding from a rock, is repairable rather than needing replaced

- when the front clip came off we found that the drivers side turn signal looks to have been rigged up at some point. Passenger side fog needs harness as well. I planned to replace both turns and fogs with euros and harnesses. It still functions exactly as it should.

- AC compressor turns on, but I think it needs converted and refilled

- I would recommend the front sway bar end links get replaced. I was planning on just putting something aftermarket on.

- interior is far from show quality. Antenna needs replaced so I took the headliner out. Have replacement, but never re-ran the antenna wire. I also needed the headliner out so my helmet wouldn't tear it up during autox.

- BIGGEST THING TO TAKE NOTE OF; when the head was off the guides and tensioner were starting to show age, the mechanic agreed that they weren't bad. My plan was to have timing chain service completed once the seasons start changing. I have not auto crossed the car since. PO said they had been done, and I heard no negative chain noise to make me think otherwise. I would still recommend having them done within the next year or so depending on your driving/maintenance habits.

Bottom line is the car has it's flaws. I always try to maintain my cars proactively. Being a Corrado, I've spent quite a bit to keep it an enjoyable ride, while also making sure it never leaves me stranded.

May consider trades. Please consider that I am looking for something RWD or AWD and manual as a replacement. If I were to keep it I would replace the front sway with an aftermarket with new ends. Throw some KW V3's or a set of PSS9's on it, and run till the end of the season and then have the chains done.

CR price will start at 5k OBO as it sits with my entire storage of parts including the Speedlines. I'm motivated to sell. Please contact me with offers or questions. Pictures are available upon request.

Trade for AR-15 + 2K rounds of ammo (with stock wheels)? :)

Saw on SWOV. Nice looking Rado.

Not sure what kind of welcome I would get if I showed up to auto-x with an AR :fuuuu:

Now if you sold it and gave me the cash from that sale, we may not be too far off. With the stock wheels of course.

Sending this to my buddy who used to have Corrados and has been looking for one.

Appreciate the help, and all the kind words!

I've always had a soft spot for these cars, and if it sells I'll probably have another in the next couple years. Just can't justify two "toys" at the moment.

Just remembered I have a Carfax available for this car if that makes a difference.

Price drop for the CR crowd to $4500 for everything.

I'm assuming your screen name applies to an older one you used to have?

Yes, I have owned a large number of VW's throughout the years. I've used this screen name or variations of it on dozens of forums since high school.

If your on the fence a "recent" review from Motorweek may help.

Also I'm willing to throw the stock wheels back on for a little less. Make me an offer!
