TTQ B4U
still want to go photograph some of those abandoned buildings Me too, but even 6 guys your size with guns would be eaten alive in some of those places. I have a Sales Rep up there that I travel with an next time, I'm going to have her drive while I get some rolling shots. There are areas up there from the Watts Riots that are standing still in time and look like they have been part of a nuclear test site. Some areas have blocks of buildings with no windows and half of which have been set on fire. Amazing and depressing at the same time. Funny though, you roll on a few miles and you're in a very nice area of town. Gratiot Ave in Eastpointe is one example. South of there is a hell hole. I rolled every single light I stopped at and didn't care. http://www.pbase.com/image/151411607/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/151411606/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/timothylauro/image/151411605/original.jpg

I had no idea they had moved all those buildings across the country from Los Angeles to Detroit. :lolguy: Watts Riot (1965) in Watts Neighborhood of L.A. HotCarl
Regardless of a moving population (why not ask WHY said population is moving?) the city has been mismanaged for YEARS, its just all catching up with them. Would you pay $65,544 for an '04 Dodge Intrepid with over 100k miles on it? http://www.wxyz.com/dpp/news/local_news/investigations/carleases The fact that the City is 20 BILLION in debt should illustrate that this isn't just an abandoned infrastructure issue, this is a malfeasance issue on a grand scale. oh and add to that a 58 minute emergency response time for police/fire/ems. awesome. They deserve everything they get, they've created this mess and tolerated it for decades and now it all comes to a head. http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2013/07/19/emergency-manager-shocked-by-tolerance-for-detroit-mismanagement/
