I'm posting this up for a friend of mine, please see the info below and send any questions to his email at the bottom.

Selling my commuter car/winter beater. It has been extremely dependable (boring) over the last 23k miles I've owned it but I need something that is bad in the snow and breaks down to spice up my life.

1998 Honda Accord LX, A/T, power windows/locks, cloth seats, bone stock, COLD A/C!

CR price = $3,000 firm

Current mileage = 222k and will continue to go up 350-400 miles/week until the car sells

Comes with extra set of OEM front brake pads!

Title in hand

History: 2 owner, I purchased from a friend's family. Bought new from Roush Honda, serviced every 3750 mile oil change, wiper intervals, etc (I have a shoebox full of receipts). I bought it March 2012 at 199k and did the following as preventative maintenance:

Oil/filter change

Timing belt+water pump+valve gasket+all belts+tensioners/pulleys+coolant (Honda OEM)

Cabin A/C filter

Engine air filter

New key lock wire harness (common problem with these cars, harness has a PCB board that "wears out" and car dies while driving, didn't want to find out how scary it was)

Blade-style wiper blades

Front pads (rotors showed no visible issues)

Previous owner had plugs (and maybe wire/coils?) replaced at 183k

In January 2013 I replaced the 5-yr old battery.

In February 2013, chasing down a squealing sound at startup I rebuilt the power steering pump and flushed the fluid. Squealing sound remained.

In March 2013 the original alternator died and was replaced. Squealing sound went away.

I've been changing oil every 5k (highway miles) with Mobile 5000 5w30

The Good: known service history, reliable, clean interior with no sagging headliner, no rips in seats, still pulls 27-28 AVG MPG with A/C and 80mph highway cruising

The Bad: Will need new tires before winter, usual dents/scrapes/scratches on exterior, some rust on drivers side wheel well (see pic), dent/crease on rear driver-side door (see pic)
