cstmg8 Posted August 30, 2013 Report Share Posted August 30, 2013 A coworkers cadillac is throwing this code, and upon startup it will idle poorly, making what I can only describe as a panting sound. (literally like a dog) She had it scanned at autozone and the code showed a "secondary air injection system fault" Could this be an emissions problem? What the hell is secondary air injection? Air injection pumps fresh air into the exhaust to speed up the catalitic converter function on startup. If you're getting a noise something is likely dying a slow death.
