BrendanB
Recently my left headlight stopped revolving up (light still works, shines under car), and it's a headlight unit that was replaced under a year ago. Any common problems with the gears, or is it more likely the entire headlight assembly?
Mitch
Yes, there are common problems with the gears. If I remember correct, I only had to flip my gear. Here's a good write up. Of course your issue may be different, but good luck http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headlightfix/#FreeGuide
Cordell
If its the gears it will groan and make noise because the motor will still spin. If it does nothing check the fuses and the motor.

gillbot
It can be the gears if they are completely stripped out. That happened on my wife's trans am, the gear was completely trashed so it wasn't even making contact any more.

Gears/fuse would be much cheaper than a new headlight motor, so I'm hoping that's what it is. The light didn't go up once about 2 weeks ago, then worked fine until its current state of not going up at all
starkmaster03
Also check voltage going to the motor. I had one of the connectors to my headlights start shorting out and had to be replaced.
Franchi
And let me know if you find my socket the headlight ate. Lol apparently we gave it indigestion...

LOL, hasn't spit out anything yet but I'm sure I'll find it somewhere in the headlight housing
