vonrottes
Finally got shit sorted! coils I installed didn't work, sat nearly on the bump stops, so I ordered a set of viking coilovers and I just got them installed yesterday after work... got them adjusted this morning collars are about 1½-2" up and is about stock height. knobs are both at 4 clicks. threw it all back together this morning and just took it around the hood.... speed bumps are soaked up like my dad's 2006 charger. feels so much more planted than stock.. all that is left is get the front end aligned and hook the exhaust up... Super excited for this now.
vonrottes
Should have uploaded these and put them in the last post. But heres where I'm at now. http://68.media.tumblr.com/e30005f6be72ea63d0d962837574d4fd/tumblr_opylqkRAgR1suerqbo1_1280.jpg http://68.media.tumblr.com/a7c4711fa88eeaec3bf7bffda0c7c0f2/tumblr_opylqkRAgR1suerqbo2_1280.jpg http://68.media.tumblr.com/8723ad9a747523760a61ca0740fefff7/tumblr_opylqkRAgR1suerqbo3_1280.jpg http://68.media.tumblr.com/02a6f42a2ca9d87955fe8bbe3b41f775/tumblr_opylqkRAgR1suerqbo4_1280.jpg Everything seems to be moving freely, with no binding though I did notice the tire hits the upper control arm at full droop (will literally never see full droop in normal use) gonna bust my ass Friday to get it finished and cleaned up, then there is a 100% of her being at CC&C saturday morning. I'm so stoked to have my baby back so I can stop driving around dad's land yacht silverado... Also been working my ass off double shifting So I should be able to order the new tires in two weeks
vonrottes
Well she's back on the steer, made two all new pipes between the headers and muffler. got one leaky band clamp... Replaced the steering shaft with one that still has good u joints and the damper isn't falling apart. Did end up making it out to CC&C Saturday kinda late. drives amazingly, only thing I really have to compare it to is my dad's Charger Daytona R/T but it rides and handles very similar save for my shit tires. Only negative I've noticed in the roughly 25 miles I've driven it is....SO MUCH VIBRATION BEING TRANSMITTED TO THE STEERING WHEEL, Using poly shock bushings probably didn't help either. But I can live with that considering how well it handles now. Still need to get her up to lucore to get an alignment, but other than that I think it's done for the summer until I can afford new tires. vonrottes
As of now the suspension is still holding together, has not settled much if any. Think I've gone to 4 clicks compression and 2 clicks rebound. Exhaust is holding up, need to replace a band clamp that I messed up. And not sure what the hell caused it but my muffler it starting to.....wrinkle, like huge grooves around the circumference of the case, only guess would be afterfire expanding in the muffler? Doesn't sound weird yet but I'm looking at going to a Spintech sportsman 3000 to go in it's place. And FINALLY Got the tires installed... Still need to order the front adapters. But I got the rears on already. Went with a Sumitomo HTR Z III in 275/40r19, already got the corrected tune flashed for the smaller tires, ready to test them out lol And speaking of tune, Last adjustments I dropped the PE to 50% throttle, 0s delay and pulled a total of around 5 degree at WOT. "seems" to pull a lot harder. peak is 26deg at 0.52/5600
vonrottes
I am a firm believer in the "everything happens for a reason" no matter how shitty.... So as many of you know my 1992 Hoopty S10 was stolen and wrecked on July 17th, My inspection looks like the frame horn is twisted in. although the truck is still drivable, I don't want to throw money at it or have it turn into a money pit.. Well, The good news is I'm buying a 1992 GMC Sonoma GT. 141,000 miles, Perfect interior, body kit is intact and in good condition. paint is a little rough but the body is solid, the frame has little to no rust... What I would call a "barn find" even the original steel wheels are in perfect condition. It's not finalized, but I've got the loan approved and should have it in my possession on Friday at the latest.

cstmg8
Nice, so you'll be able to switch most of the parts over right? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
vonrottes
Hopefully you'll have it in time for cars and coffee. I'll stop by and say hello. I sure hope so. If I do have it, I will for sure be at CC&C in her. Nice, so you'll be able to switch most of the parts over right? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk Actually every single part will swap right over, the GT was built on the same 2wd truck chassis as my S10, unlike the Syclone that was built on a 4wd truck chassis... But I'm revising my ghetto shit.. going to make this a proper restomod and keep it all clean, take my time doing it and not making the same mistakes I did the first go around. zeitgeist57
I loved the Sonoma GT bodykit back in high-school (like a Typhoon but much, much cheaper ) Look forward to seeing it soon in pics and in-person at CC&C!
vonrottes
Well it's unofficially official. Got the load paperwork filled out this morning, and will have the funds in my account tomorrow, soooo I'll probably go pick her up tomorrow after work.. I had my dad snap a pic of the VIN for me today to confirm it is a real GT and not a really good clone... And it's #70. So, I'm stoked about that. I loved the Sonoma GT bodykit back in high-school (like a Typhoon but much, much cheaper ) Look forward to seeing it soon in pics and in-person at CC&C! They are nearly identical, save for the wheel arches and side cladding is different... Other than that it looks like a Syclone. And they retailed for $10k less nada still lists clean retail at $15,000... I'm getting this one for..... A lot less 👍👍👍 Needs some minor cosmetic work, but overall I'd say the truck "cleaned up" could be worth 5-6,000. I look forward to actually taking this one out and being more than a rusted out ls swapped S10 😂
vonrottes
Posting from my phone real quick wait on my sister in Etna... So here is the new page where all the pictures will be posted projectbettywhite.tumblr.com Yes, already named her Betty White. Needs some good love but overall I don't think $3,000 was a bad deal. The body and frame are 1000x cleaner than my S10. Adding pictures Edited July 27, 2017 by vonrottes

vonrottes
Hell yes. That's a keeper RIGHT, this is about the same condition my S10 was in when my parents got it back in like 2003, then it sat for 7 years and started rusting to hell. I'm going to do this right and restore the body completely, and do right by the GT name, and make her fast...lol
