Rgreen
Ive been looking at a company named black rain ordnance does anyone have expierence with them or would recommened a different brand. Looking for a quality and durable ar
Diamonds
Are you looking for a billet AR? What is your budget? For the money that I see Black Rain guns going for (money) I would build my own. There's just something about their brand that I don't like. Mostly due to the fact that they offer guns with coatings that are juvenile and/or video-game-ish plus the spiked flash hiders and two tone fluted barrels yuck! I don't like that. I know they make guns that don't use those finishes... but I still do not respect it. What is your budget? I am no expert, but maybe I could give some decent advice. Diamonds
Under 800 bucks - I have owned a Windham SRC and it ran very well. I think its tough to build a nice gun for under 600. And, 800 is a stretch if you want it to be billet and or freefloat, etc. 800-1200 - I cannot give real word experience but have heard good things about Colt from those that own them. also, a local seller GunEnvy has their own line of AR's that they can do forged or billet and any color you want. For 800-1200 I have built guns that I am very happy with. 1200-2000 - I own a Daniel Defense DDm4v5 and am in love with it! Runs amazing. Requires minimal lubrication. A real Champ. I also have built a very nice billet AR15 with Seekins receivers that I believe is a good value compared to most "out-of-the-box" guns I see with similar prices. At 1200+ dollars its kind of like building vs. buying a house. You can buy a nice gun that has most of what you want or you can build your dream gun exactly how you want it. I assume black rain Guns average about 1500-2500 bucks. For 1600-1800 I would build a nasty gun that would be exactly what I wanted and completely custom. Radio Flyer1647545514
You can't beat a build imho. If you aren't familiar with the AR platform in the beginning all of the research you do will give you a lot of knowledge on your finished product. Rgreen
Im looking to spend $2k, ive been looking at the Daniel defense looks and feels solid
Radio Flyer1647545514
Does that include optic? Do you NEED a rail? Do you want billet or forged? DI or gas? If you want to spend 2g on a complete get a LMT, DD or LWRC. If it were me, I would build on a seekins or mega upper and lower.
Rgreen
No optics just gun

Radio Flyer1647545514
Upper/ lower combo mentioned above, 1:7 Dd barrel, bcm or lmt bcg, lmt internals, magpul gear, pick your rail. Build complete.
copperhead
Just buy a Colt I wouldn't touch Black Rain Ordinance just because their shit looks stupid. I'm not 12, so I don't want something that would look super awesome bro to 12 year olds.
Diamonds
Start with a seekins lower and seekins upper that uses their proprietary rail system. Do a 16 inch heavy barrel (chrome lined) with standard flash hider, grab whatever color Magpul ACS-L or UBR stock you want and get the same color Ergo grip. Buy a BCM ambi charging handle and BCM bolt carrier. If you have the extra coin (when you buy a LPK) get some sort of upgraded 2 stage trigger. It is important that you spare no expense on your barrel and BCG. That build that I described would be pretty cool. The seekins rail system would really make it unique. A good cheap billet set would be "Working mans armory". I have a lower of theirs and I love it. Other good brands are Mega, Noveske, Hogan, And Vltor. Also know that Daniel and Bravo Company make great out-of-the box forged guns!
Diamonds
Getting a non-cookie cutter rail is what will set your gun apart from others... seekins SP3R v2 not my gun http://i978.photobucket.com/albums/ae267/wile_coyote2/mygrendel2_zpsfe4e9373.jpg Edited October 2, 2013 by Diamonds

1fast5gp
Just buy a LMT CQB MRP 16 and add a Geissele DMR or SSA trigger and you will have one hell of a gun. LMT makes one of the best ARs out there. You want quality and durability, this is your gun. It is 1600-1700 dollars, Geissele triggers are 200-300 depending which one you get and you are still within your budget. http://www.kygunco.com/prodimages/19678-DEFAULT-L.jpg

Scotty2Hotty
Looked at a pof, lwrc, and a lmt all are really nice but idk I like them all dont know what way to go What's the intention of this rifle? You plan to smoke up thousands of rounds? You like flexibility of calibers? How cool do you want to be? Are you a noob?
Scotty2Hotty
POF and LWRC are piston rifles. LMT still offers DI rifles, but you can go piston also.

copperhead
Don't buy anything from RGuns. ARFifteen brand lowers have been known to be out of spec. The other big no-no's are pretty much gone these days. Don't get into any preorder situations. Since you are already in Springfield, drive to Aimsurplus in Middletown. Their contact info is here: http://www.aimsurplus.com/info/contact.aspx Right now they have a CMT Tactical billet lower for $200 or a forged Surplus Arms and Ammo for $80. If you ask nicely the may have something else sitting around that's not on the website. Get whichever one you prefer, they are both fine. While you are there also pick out whatever accessories, grip and stock you want, they will probably have whatever you want but check their site first. Order this: http://www.whiteoakarmament.com/xcart/product.php?productid=17873&cat=283&page=1 And this: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Stock-Hardware-Mounting-Kit-Mil-Spec-p/stock%20hardware%20kit.htm This completes your lower, with very high quality parts, barring any special parts you want to use like ambi selectors or different trigger guards (unless you got the billet receiver) etc. Do you want to buy an assembled upper or piece it together? If you want to piece it together start with this: http://www.whiteoakarmament.com/xcart/product.php?productid=17851&cat=278&page=1 Then get whatever barrel, rail, gas block and gas tube you want. For shooting lots of rounds you want something a bit heavier, like Bravo Company's SOCOM profile. White Oak and Rainier also have very good barrels assuming they are in stock. For a fully assembled upper, check Bravo Company. I'd suggest this: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/BCM-BFH-16-Mid-Length-Upper-Receiver-Group-p/bcm-urg-mid-16%20bfh%20vtrx13.htm If you get a BCM assembled upper make damn sure you select the option of including the charging handle and bolt carrier group. That BCM upper is roughly $1,000. To build the lower with that nice CMT Tactical lower would cost just under $300, plus whatever stock and grip you decide on. So for $1500 you would have a very nice, high quality rifle. This leaves $500 to upgrade the trigger or go with high end optics or an Aimpoint PRO red dot.
