WrxRcr
I am having trouble figuring out a way to run the factory 370z springs on a coilover with a lower spring perch meant for 2.5" springs. The z has 3 inch lower diameter spring increasing to a 3 3/8 upper. If i knew someone that could fabricate a cup with a 2.5 inch inner diameter or create a threaded perch with the the larger spring in mind. I could run a big washer but would have to find someway to keep the lower spring isolated. link to what the factory setup looks like. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/290969514308?lpid=
POS VETT
It would probably be more economically feasible to buy properly-sized springs with a rate similar to stock.
Trouble Maker
It would probably be more economically feasible to buy properly-sized springs with a rate similar to stock. I'm no spring/suspension expert but IIRC 2.5" springs are standard and you can get them in many lengths and rates. https://www.google.com/search?q=2.5%22+springs The first result. I have no knoweldge about this company, it's just an example. http://www.racingsprings.com/2.5%20ID%20Coil%20Over/Store/
Farkas
what exactly are you trying to accomplish?
WrxRcr
I think that is against the rules for stock class, i have to use oem springs.
Farkas
You're going to do more harm putting a stock spring on a coilover body valved for a completely different spring rate... aka your car is going to handle like shit. I suggest you run the stock suspension, or simply change classes.
WrxRcr
Talked to the company that makes the shocks and the said it would be fine.
Brandon
Im with Andrew...Its all around a very odd idea... If you are just getting a different set of "shocks" then that is one thing, but and actual coil over...No. What product are you trying to buy? WrxRcr
Motion control suspensions 2 way non remote. http://www.motioncontrolsuspension.com/products.html
greg1647545532
I wouldn't think you'd be allowed to change the ride height if the rules require stock springs. Is this SCCA Solo?
Brandon
Motion control suspensions 2 way non remote. http://www.motioncontrolsuspension.com/products.html If I am understanding this correctly, those are 18 way adjustable shocks, meant to replace the factory shocks/struts and use in conjunction with a spring combo. They have a note about including springs, but obviously you are trying to avoid this. Mechanically speaking is those are designed to work with a factory replacement spring then your factory springs would "work"... But as just mentioned 18 way adjustable shocks seem...pushing the rules of the SCCA class you may be after...I could be wrong.
greg1647545532
No, those are 2 way adjustable shocks with 14/18 settings for compression and rebound, respectively. They're legal in the stock class; until recently, even the remote-reservoir versions would have been legal. Adjustable spring perches are allowed as long as they're set for the stock ride height. That's all assuming he's talking about SCCA Solo. In any case, I don't have an answer for the OP. Have you tried contacting the company? WrxRcr
This would be for scca solo stock class, the company doesn't make a perch that would work.
