Mallard
http://www.autoblog.com/2014/01/01/fiat-buys-chrysler-4-point-35-billion-no-ipo/ Imported from Detroit...pwnd by Italians :gabe: First DaimlerChrysler (German), now FIATchrysler (Italian)...awaiting a sale to Geely or Renault in the future. This is a good thing. The Daimler "merger" was more like a takeover. The relationship with FIAT is much, much more cooperative and everyone is focused on building the best products possible. Gergwheel1647545492
I thought Fiat was already a major share holder of Chrysler? I figured that is why the new Jeep looks so silly in the front was cause of Fiat.
zeitgeist57
I thought Fiat was already a major share holder of Chrysler? I figured that is why the new Jeep looks so silly in the front was cause of Fiat. They were a majority shareholder, with the other ~40% owned by the UAW's healthcare fund. Fiat's purchase of the remaining shares eliminates the need for an IPO (public stock offering) which is pretty much the only other way the UAW would've sold their share. From a business standpoint - all kidding aside about Chrysler - this was a good move for both car companies. F the unions.
Furloaf
I wish Chrysler would have been left to die a few years ago. But if this deal fucks over the unions then I approve.
