Orion
Selling these for $350. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127589 Newegg link showing pics and specs. Of note is that the Lightning Extreme Edition cam with 3 gigs of onboard RAM as opposed to the 1.5 gigs that the rest of the 580 series cards came with. This is important for those who are gaming in better than HD (WQHD or UHD). These have been rock solid performers for a year in my machine, and I never needed to overclock them. I run BF4 on Very High settings with these, and everything else at Ultra settings in 2650x1440 resolution. Cards will come with an SLi bridge, as well. Thanks for looking! Slimpsy1647545505
Any idea on the performance gain (if any) this setup would have over a gtx 770?
Orion
http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/msi-geforce-gtx-580-lightning-xtreme-edition-review,1.html Review of the 580 (couldn't find the SLi review, unfortunately) http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/msi_geforce_gtx_770_gaming_review,17.html Not sure exactly what brand 770 you have, so I picked the MSI. Here is the review on that. The 3dMark 11 scores are the only thing in common in the reviews, and the p score for the 580 is almost twice the score for the 770. All of this is subjective, so by all means, do your due diligence, but my personal experience is that these cards are monsters.
1fast5gp
Any idea on the performance gain (if any) this setup would have over a gtx 770? I really don't think there will be any performance gains over a GTX770. On top of the 580s will use considerably more power and produce more heat. Orion
3dMark disagrees, but it IS newer tech. It will definitely use less power/produce less heat. The cooling fans on the Lightnings do an outstanding job. I monitor constantly on my keyboard, and I don't recall ever seeing higher than 65 degrees on the cards. bucd
Yeah..the 580s were good cards. But i wouldn't recommend going back to older tech from a 770 even if performance is better on two 580s in. And not having to deal with any type of issues that may be in certain games with SLI. That being said, anyone looking to upgrade from something older then the 580s, they perform very well, just a little power hungry. -D
