evan9381 Posted January 15, 2014 Report Share Posted January 15, 2014 have a 2009 Legacy with the stock Harmon Kardon system sub recently went out, want to replace it with something with a little more bass. i dont need to bother the neighbors or make it known when i'm entering the neighborhood, but i would like to replace it with something better than the stock sub. now, i haven't taken the rear dash apart yet, but looking on the legacy forums, it appears as if some 09 owners have a 6.5" sub, and some have an 8". no rhyme or reason why. i want to use the stock sub location. i don't want a box as i frequently use all of my trunk. i will probably replace the amp too (stock one currently under the seat)...would be awesome if i could reuse some of the stock wiring, but i can run new if needed. i haven't messed around with car audio in ~6-7 years, and feel lost as fuck reading some of the stuff i see. any suggestions for a 6.5 or 8" sub (mount to stock 4 bolt holes) + an amp to match it?
