Stampede
Is there a proper way to break in an AR, how many rounds of brass ammo, then able to run steel. Or does it even matter? Thanks.

Diamonds
It was once recommended to me to run a bore snake through the barrel every couple of shots in the beginning. I never did that....
Dammit Charlie
Nope. If it was a high precision bolt gun, but not an AR. Shoot it until it breaks.
copperhead
According to the people of AR15.com it's not broken in until you throw it down the driveway.
1fast5gp
no break in required. Just shoot it. If some one told you there is a breakin procedure, they are an idiot.
oh8sti
Rub the firing pin on the concrete. It will break it in for you and then you'll be ready to go.

Mojoe
I recommend at least a 1000 meter low crawl through some mud. Then shower with it, and break it down and clean it while you're in the shower. Dry it off and adding a light coat of CLP should do you good. Any issued, get back in the shower with it and clean it again. Shoooooooot it. RedRocket1647545505
Need more sand involved to fully smooth out the action I recommend putting some grinding compound between the bolt and carrier. Really loosens things up a bit.

Shmaa
Stainless or chrome lined? If its stainless make sure you hand lap it or fire lap it. Just kidding. Choot it.
