1978 Chevy K10

Hate to do this but my needs have changed and a classic "tee-ruck" (as Clay says) doesn't fit into my plans at the moment.

It's a K10 (FT 4x4, works great) with a Cheby 350 and a TH350 automatic tranny. No clue on the miles since it's only 5 digits, but the ODO reads ~49K. Starts and runs great. Carb needs adjusted (high RPMs), and I'm going to try and get to that soon, but it runs like a top. You're car guys so I won't post the price of everything I put into this, and I know I'll never see all of that back but here goes.

The good/replaced within the last year (all new, not refurbed or junk yard parts):

- Full true dual exhaust system, headers included, with Percy's gaskets.

- Michelin 31" tires.

- Rear drums completely rebuilt, new shoes.

- Front rotors, calipers, pads.

- Master Cylinder

- Air filter.

- Plugs and wires.

- Battery.

- Battery cables.

- Headlights.

- High beam foot switch.

- Tail light lenses.

- Wiper blades.

- Wiper switch.

- U joints on rear drive shaft.

- Heat works great.

- Previous owner put in a new alternator.

- Will come with an extra set of exhaust gaskets, new wiper motor (current one works, just doesn't always shut off right away), and a new transmission dipstick and tube.

- Has a working spotlight (not sure what you'd use it for, but it's fun).

The Bad:

It's a '78. Was in the process of restoring. Body has rust (see pics) but frame is solid. It is usable, but it's definitely a project. Won't lie about that. I was driving it 60+ miles a day until I got a beater Hyundai to save on gas. Fuel gauge doesn't work right and sometimes not at all. Haven't looked into what is causing this yet. Dash is cracked and the seat is torn, hence the cover. Speedo is off about 10MPH. Shift linkage may be bad. It's hard to get it to shift out of park most times. It's an old restoration project so use common sense and you'll understand what you're getting. :)

More pics here.

$1,000. Feel free to talk cash or trade. As some for sale posts commonly say, the worst I can do is say, "no thanks."

Love love love those late 70s Chevy trucks. I'm sad to hear that you're selling it

I'm sad to have to sell it. Was making decent progress, then a baby came along. :)

Need to replace this and the Hyundai with an Expedition or Suburban to use as a hauler, farm truck, hunting truck, etc. Need more room than a standard cab provides, otherwise I'd definitely keep it.

how much rust is there on the body. I cant see much in the pictures that shows the bad spots

I'll be 100% honest, I planned on replacing most of the body. A buddy of mine that does body work said he could fiber glass the bad spots on the fenders and bed. It's safe, the cab has rust a bit, but no giant gaping holes into the cab. Doors are ok rust wise. In the dead of winter with the heat going I had to turn it down b/c it got too hot in there.

Every part of the truck has SOME rust on it. I'll try and take better pics tomorrow and post them. Front fenders are prob the worst, but they're not swiss cheese.
