Wheel color..

So the BRZ wheels I made the big thread about don't fit over the new brakes. Grrr.. I have another set coming, but I'll be powdercoating them right off the bat because silver will look like crap.

Black car, BRIGHT yellow calipers, these wheels:

(Yeah, yeah. Rotas.. I've been on both sides of the argument.)

I was originally thinking black wheels. But I thought I'd involve the CR Collective to get some other ideas on colors.

Other ideas:

Black w/ single yellow spoke

Black face with yellow barrel

I'm not a fan of polished/chrome wheels on modern cars. Without other polished accents on the car it makes the wheels look "separate" from the car. So I'll have to vote no on those ideas.

I was tired of black wheels on black cars and went with a dark metallic gray. I am very happy with them.

Thought a pic might be helpful :)

This was an option too. But I'm concerned about how the bright yellow calipers will look behind them. I think black will make the calipers pop more, and putting a little bit of yellow on the wheel will tie them together.

I was considering white at one point. The brightness of the yellow would be lost a bit. But the overall impact of the wheels would be eye-catching. However I would need to get some white onto the car elsewhere to tie them in.

What about a matching yellow lip, but black face and inner barrel? Hmm..

I'm currently having the same troubles deciding on wheel color too. :/ trying to be a bit different than the typical black lol. I think bronze or white wheels may make a black car pop.

Is your license plate 6 speed V by any chance.

Nope. Why would someone need that plate on a first gen anyways? Back on topic - just remember a light colored barrel may look good at first but if you drive the car at all the brake dust is a nightmare.

Apparently, I'm not the only one to have similar ideas...

Now I feel like a copy cat. Fuuuuu..

But I really like how it looks now that I've seen it.

I have to say thats pretty hot:fuckyeah:. I would feel bad for copying, but somebody else will, or has already, so screw it if it looks good.

Bingo.

It will look perfect for 20 minutes. Then to get them 100% clean you would have e to remove the wheel.

No thanks.
