Doubt they'll fix the flooded cars before this coming weekend. I won't make it up this year as I'm photographing a wedding on Saturday. It's an awesome time for sure, I still remember being up there when the PT Loser first came out and wondering what all these plastic pieces of shit were doing on the strip. Mallard Posted August 13, 2014 Report Share Posted August 13, 2014 Actually, a lot of people will already be gathering there starting today, I usually walk between 12 Mile and downtown Birmingham, but won't be able to make it this year (again) since my wife's going to have a kid any minute. Don't try to drive on Woodward on Saturday after about noon. Park in a neighborhood between 11 and 13 Mile and walk. Chrysler has a parking lot rented at 13 Mile with a bunch of stuff on display and Richard Rawlings will be there. My buddy worked at Fred Lavery (i think that was the name) Porsche/Audi/Something else as the head detailer, and had a prime spot on the strip with a Carrera GT out front. He gave me directions, and I sat in fucking traffic for at least an hour, to go 2 miles. he thought he was being funny. i guess there were quicker ways but he wanted me to wait in that shit. once i got there and parked, we hung out for hours. tons of insane cars. i probably wouldnt do it again though. it was fun, but its just watching cars drive by, some peel out, then get pulled over. meh.
