zeitgeist57
Looking for scrap angle iron to weld to a semi tire to make an elevated fire pit for a campout in October. Hoping for appx 4 2" lengths, but I can cold saw whatever lengths I get to what I need. Please advise if anyone knows where to pick up scrap, or good steel at a fair price. Looking for 1x1 or 2x2, as long as it's appx 1/4" or greater. Thank you!
jeffro
Andrew at suburban steel might be able to help you out. Supplicium is his name on the board. If not, menards sells angle iron. No idea on price though.

Richard Cranium
Hit up a thrift store and buy an old bed frame for $5 or $10. It isn't the most heavy duty, but for the price you can double up the supports.
