The tree, also called the Jackson Oak, is located at the corner of South Finley and Dearing Streets in Athens, Georgia, United States. The original tree fell in 1942, but a new tree was grown from one of its acorns, and planted in the same location. The current tree is sometimes referred to as the Son of The Tree That Owns Itself. Check out Chippewa Square in Savannah, that's where they filmed the bus stop scenes in Forrest Gump. Crystal Beer Pub is also a must. Or more importantly, did the previous tree create and sign a legally binding Will passing ownership to Son? Even that could be argued, however. Is the Son of The Tree That Owns Itself really a son at all since it's possibly genetically identical? Which brings up the fact that it may or may not be genetically identical. So, now you have test both the original and the "Son".
