Lowes and Home Depot both have decent bits maybe not carbide though. Unless your drilling out locks on regular bases you most likely don't need carbide. I will assume your trying to fubar some gun parts and there is no gun part I have run into that needs carbide. Maybe some Targets?

If must for the $15 a single drill bit carbide stuff maybe Amazon, MSCdirect, or McMastercarr.

Try giving Beechwold Hardware a call, they'll know.

These are pretty soft material, listed as C-3 tungsten carbide (surprisingly they list this as no one else does) and according to this chart are far from ideal from the "tough steel" OP is going to be drilling.

Steel and steel alloys - these grades resist pitting and deformation

C-6 General Purpose

C-7 Finishing

C-8 Precision

Wear Surface

C-9 No shock

C-10 Light shock

C-11 Heavy shock

Impact

C-12 Light

C-13 Medium

C-14 heavy

Miscellaneous

C-15A Heavy cut, hot flash weld removal
