The Smoking Tire also had a podcast on July 15th where they talked about the rally with Tony and Scott (the organizers) I believe they even mentioned the Slingshot. I'm not sure if yours was the only one there. I hope to do this someday with the wife. I just need a fun car to do it in.

Yep, Matt Farah ribbed me more than a bit in that podcast for taking the Slingshot to a Rally. But I had a blast with it, despite the rough weather.

The Summer rally filled with rally veterans 6 months in advance, and never opened to the public. I suspect that the July 2016 one will do the same.

 

The Ohio Valley Rally (the "Fall rally") doesn't always fill with rally veterans, and it's the only way currently to make your way into the Summer rally. Registration for this year's Fall rally has closed.

 

Your best bet is to keep your eye on the website or the Facebook page 6-8 months in advance to see what you need to do.

I signed up on day 1, but was 30 or so places out from even making the cut. I didn't hold out much hope. I got a call from the organizers 4-6 weeks for the rally and they mentioned that a spot (or multiple spots) had opened up and wanted to know if I was interested. I was already locked in financially for LS fest and have a truck on the way. There just want enough time to come up with enough money to make it, so I declined.

Thanks, Ryan. I thought about posting the Part II video, then thought it might confuse people about which rally was which. But I appreciate you posting .... I'm frankly surprised anyone else had much interest.
